The Big Hurt and Little Hurt Triathlons run in Port Angeles each summer — swimming Ediz Hook with the Olympic Mountains above and the Strait ahead. Seabeck on Hood Canal is the quieter option, a classic local race in a narrow, cold arm of the Sound. Small calendar, high scenery-to-finish-line ratio. The ferry from Seattle adds time but transforms the trip into something that feels like a destination race even if you live in King County.
